The Value of Education
Thursday, May 28th, 2009When my parents was sending me to school, I did not pay too much attention on my studies, being with my friends is the only thing that could make me happy. So instead of paying the tuition fee, I just used the money in eating and hanging out with my out of school friends. When my parents passed away, I was left with a good sum of money and a home as an inheritance but since I could not find a decent job, all my money was depleted including my home. I worked very hard to maintain a living and when I got married, things get even harder since I need to work not only for myself but for my family as well. And when I found out that the money I am giving to my children for tuition fee payment is being used in video games outside the school, I was hurt. More than angry, I felt a stabbing pain inside me. History repeats itself and I do not know how to correct it since I myself did not value the importance of education before.
